Why I'm an Editor

Within creative spaces, I've found it rare that people want to be video editors. However, among those of us that do, there is an intrinsic care for detail. The minuscule and how it all  plays a part in the final result.

Most importantly, Film editing is the one artform made for cinema. While photography, lighting and production design have all existed outside of film, editing is the one art form catered to the screen. It is less of a purgatory and more of a limbo, where the editor bridges the connection from the set to the audience.  It's a tapestry of opportunity and infinite outcome.

Filmmaking and Commercial freelance

My studies and freelance work are rooted in cinema.

I've predominantly worked in post-production editing, whether for short fiction films; documentaries or the work I do with edityourwedding and SoundBites Studios.

Though I have been branching out into production design with Music video supervision, the short body horror GUNK  (circulating film festivals from 2023 onwards) as well as APEX, coming soon to Mubi!

Photography and Photoshop

Like many kids, I grew up loving to take photos, which translated into photoshopping myself and others into worlds of fantasy and art.

That childlike wonder followed me into adulthood and I developed a love for the more technical ways in which colour grading can transform an image and the nuanced symbolism that evokes those same fantasy reminders.
